At Diya, we work with intellectually challenged adults.
Diya Foundation (www,diyafoundation-india.org), is a vocational training centre for adults with intellectual challenges, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism. It is a registered trust, established in 1999. Over the last 17 years we’ve training differently abled adults in life skills and vocational skills with their employability being the focus. Over the years we’ve trained more than a hundred adults but have realized that finding jobs for them in the community is a huge challenge, as large and small businesses are hesitant to employ them even in simple, monotonous and repetitive jobs like housekeeping or stacking. So side by side with advocating their strengths in the community, we started a for profit social enterprise to provide employment opportunities –  Diya Innovations.
Diya Innovations (www.diyainnovations.com) is currently a gifting company with our focus on corporate gifting. 60% of our employees are differently abled. We have a range of products that include chocolates, candles & diyas, recycled craft (from bottles, newspaper and seeds) and a line of embellished linen products. The linen is embellished with screen and block prints in house by our differently abled and stitched by mothers of our trainees and other tailors from lesser served communities in Bangalore. We work with a number of large corporations in Bangalore for their gifting needs and hope we can help you with yours.
