Hearts Speak Louder Than Words: A Glimpse into Our Inclusive Workplace

At Diya Innovations, connection transcends words. If you peek into our workshop on any given day, you will witness a beautiful, heartwarming dance of communication between three of our amazing artisans: Nancy, Prithvi, and Rekha.

Nancy, who has hearing and speech impairments, works alongside Prithvi, who has Down syndrome, and Rekha, who is intellectually disabled. While they face different challenges, they have built an incredibly close, affectionate bond that reminds us all what true inclusion looks like.

Prithvi, Nancy and Rekha

Watching them interact is pure joy. Because Nancy cannot hear or speak, Prithvi and Rekha have instinctively adapted how they connect with her. They do not let barriers get in the way; instead, they communicate through a sweet mix of expressive gestures, touch, and intense eye contact.

Prithvi, with his characteristically warm and gentle nature, communicates with Nancy using big, animated facial expressions and enthusiastic thumbs-up signs to encourage her work. When he wants to share a lighthearted moment, a simple nudge on the shoulder or a shared smile is all it takes to set them both off laughing.

Rekha brings her own sweet energy to the dynamic. She connects with Nancy through helpful, cooperative actions—pointing clearly to the crafting materials they need, handing over tools with a gentle smile, and using comforting touch, like a reassuring pat on the back, to show her support. Nancy, in turn, responds with bright eyes, quick hand movements, and a radiant smile that shows she feels completely understood.

Their bond proves that friendship does not require a shared spoken language. It just requires an open heart, patience, and the willingness to meet someone exactly where they are. Prithvi, Rekha, and Nancy are not just coworkers; they are a team whose cute, silent language brings a special warmth to the Diya Innovations family every single day.
